Signing Day Evaluations

Does any of the recruiting class evaluations, stars, ect, have any weight? I know there are 2 star players that can out play a 5 star guy, but how often does that happen? I've always thought that 1-10 in national recruiting classes are imposable to tell the real impact years away, but that they are usually better than 50-60. I don't know if that is even true. What are your thoughts on the true relevance of signing day class evaluations?

Great question @Bulldog12 - I would say our guy @dduke is best suited to answer that question. I am not as well versed on the recruiting scene... only so much time in a day! I believe Derek will have some recruiting content after the Championship Game on Saturday.

We will also be starting a new recruiting podcast in the New Year... stay tuned!

Well the last couple years have proved recruiting matters. Look at the top of CFB. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State etc. All sign top five classes and it shows not just in starting talent but the depth these teams have. There’s a big difference in top five recruiting and even 6-20. But to balance it out or make up for “stars” schemes and coaching matters. Iowa State is a perfect example of that. They know what they are looking for and are great in developing what they have and make it work.
