KU by 5

WVU by 7

KSU by 6

OU by 9

TTU by 14

Biggest surprise: WVU losing at TCU that’s brutal.

KU and Baylor should both be one seeds if they play again in the Big 12 championship game.

Kudos to Boynton and Ok State for not giving up on this season and playing really well lately.

And Iowa State.... OUCH. What’s going on in Ames?

Nothing good is going on in Ames, I can tell ya that much. The AD, Jamie Pollard, likes Prohm and is definitely going to give him another year (check out his tweet about fouling up 3 from yesterday @IASTATEAD on twitter) Next year will be critical for Steve if he wants to keep his job. They have a top 30ish recruiting class coming in, so they have reinforcements, but in order to bounce back he'll need to sign 1-2 impact players this spring from either the JUCO ranks or grad transfer.

Good point @cyclonezzz - let's not forget last season didn't get good til winning the Big 12 tourney which was great but it feels like a lifetime ago. How much time did that buy him? I wonder if he would be on thinner ice if it wasn't for the Tourney last year!

Thanks for the response @petemundo Early in January last year they were riding high after dominating KU at home, but to end the season they had some very tough losses, most notably at a bad West Virginia team.

ISU fans obviously love coming down to the Sprint Center and Power and Light, so I think him winning the tournament really saved much criticism coming his way. I do think Steve fits Ames and the University as a whole, so I believe Pollard wants to give him every opportunity possible to succeed. Fans have started to become very restless this season with the direction of the program, and I can't say I really blame them. Time will tell...

I agree that Prohm seems like a good cultural fit for ISU, but in the end he has to get back to winning. However, what is ISU's ceiling? Did The Mayor make expectations too lofty? ANY shot he would ever return? Seems unlikely but hey........

I think after the Fred years, the expectations were to make the tournament every year. Having a down year every now and then would be acceptable, but missing the tournament 2 out of the last 3 years isn't something that fans are taking very well. I can't see Fred ever coming back to Ames, but like you said, who knows?
