Kennedy Fauntleroy Announces Transfer to Oklahoma State

Georgetown guard Kennedy Fauntleroy announced she would transfer to play for Jacie Hoyt and Oklahoma State women’s basketball on Thursday.

Fauntleroy was the Big East Freshman of the Year last season and announced her transfer on social media. OSU also announced the transfer via press release.

She is the fifth transfer to commit to OSU this offseason.

Fauntleroy was a former four-star recruit and considered a Top-15 player in the transfer portal by ESPN.

She averaged 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals last season as the Hoyas reached the second round of the Big East Tournament.

“We are thrilled to add Kennedy to our Cowgirl family,” Hoyt said in the release. “Last year she proved to be one of the best point guards in the country as a freshman and we can’t wait to help her prove herself again. A scoring point guard is a coveted position for us and the style we play and Kennedy is all that and more.”

The Cowgirls lost five players from last year’s team to the transfer portal, per wbbblog.com. Forward Taylen Collins transferred to Auburn, guard Macie James transferred to UNLV, guard Lexy Keys transferred to Bedlam rival Oklahoma and forward Makyra Tramble transferred to Oral Roberts. A fifth Cowgirl, Neferatali Notoa, was not on the 2022-23 roster.

OSU has now replaced those five players through the portal.

Former LSU center Hannah Gusters transferred to Oklahoma State during last season and had to sit out. She’s eligible to play next season.

Since the season concluded the Cowgirls have signed former Kansas forward Ioanna Chatzileonti, Arkansas guard Rylee Langerman and North Texas guard Quincy Noble.
