Video review clears safety for next game despite ejection

TCU won’t have to play without safety Chris Hackett at West Virginia.

The junior safety was cleared by the Big 12 in a review of the video of a fight on the sideline in Saturday’s game against Texas Tech. Hackett and a Tech player were ejected for throwing a punch, but the video did not show a punch from Hackett.

The ejection, in the third quarter, meant Hackett would have also had to sit out the first half of the next game.

Instead, the Frogs’ secondary can be at full strength for West Virginia, the third-ranked passing offense in the Big 12. The Mountaineers’ Kevin White leads the conference with 72 catches for 1,047 yards and eight touchdowns.
