Kansas Guard Devon Dotson Declares for 2020 NBA Draft

NCAA Basketball: Kansas at Texas Christian

Kansas sophomore guard Devon Dotson will declare for the NBA draft and forego his final two years of NCAA eligibility.

Dotson made the announcement official on his Twitter page on Monday morning.

Dotson averaged 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists last season. The Jayhawks wrapped up the season as No. 1 in the AP Poll and won their last 16 games in a row before the college basketball season was cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Dotson said he would be signing with an agent and would remain in the draft. Last season, Dotson also declared for the draft, went through the draft interviews and workouts, before deciding to return for his sophomore season.

Kansas finished as the regular season Big 12 champions with a 28–3 record.

Head coach Bill Self recently told The Athletic Dotson “could have been the best point guard to play here that I’ve had.” A recent SI.com mock draft has Dotson as a second-round pick.
