Taylen Collins Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of Week

NCAA Basketball: Oklahoma State at Texas Tech

Oklahoma State forward Taylen Collins is the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth week of the 2022-23 season.

Baylor guard Bella Fontleroy was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. She earlier claimed the award for the first week of the season.

Collins, a 6-foot-1 forward, had an incredible game against North Texas, recording a double-double with 12 points and 23 rebounds. Her rebounding total matched the single-game record at Oklahoma State and is the most by a player in a Power 5 conference so far this season.

This is the first time an OSU player has earned a weekly honor since the 2020-21 season. It is Collins’ first weekly honor. Collins is averaging 8.9 points and 9.9 rebounds this season.

Fontleroy had a double-double of her own last week, as she scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Bears’ win over Houston Christian. It was he first career double and it came off the bench, as she scored 17 of Baylor’s 29 bench points.

Fontleroy is averaging 10.9 points and a team-leading 7.3 rebounds per game.
