On Tuesday, ESPN announced its replacement pick to fill the void left by Robert Griffin III after his unexpected firing.
The company turned to longtime ESPN personality Louis Riddick to replace Griffin alongside Bob Wischusen and Kris Budden.
The group announced the firing of Griffin III on August 15th, which came as a bit of a shock to the college football world. While no explanation has been given from either side, RG3 made a cryptic social media one day after his firing with the caption, “Nothing in this world is worth selling your soul for.”

The 34-year-old Griffin, a Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback, joined ESPN in 2021. He was regularly featured on programming but was set to be replaced by former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce on “Monday Night Countdown” this upcoming season.
Riddick is a former safety who started his broadcasting career after a seven-year stint in the NFL. After numerous years with ESPN, he has worked with Mark Jones, Quint Kessenich, Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, Laura Rutledge, Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Lisa Salters, and many more.
In 2024, he will play a more significant role with the company as it attempts to revamp its college football coverage with different team members and broadcast groups.
