Big 12 Hoops Getting a New Streaming Home in 2025

The Big 12 Conference is preparing to launch a new media package that will stream 20 regular-season men’s basketball games on Peacock beginning in 2025, multiple sources report.

This rights arrangement is part of a sublicense deal between Fox Sports and NBC, with involvement from Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark and NBC Sports leadership. An official announcement is expected in the near future.

The addition of Peacock places Big 12 basketball across all five major media partners in college sports: ESPN, FOX, CBS, TNT, and now NBC via Peacock. The conference hopes exposure across those platforms will boost national visibility and strengthen bargaining position ahead of its media rights renewal, which runs through 2031.

Expect televised games to cover a variety of matchups, including mid‑week contests and high-profile conference rivalries. Financial terms were not disclosed, though the partnership represents another step in the Big 12’s evolving broadcast strategy.

This deal closely follows another recent initiative. In September 2024, the Big 12 and CBS announced a sublicense yielding 20 men’s basketball games annually, along with primetime football coverage. The new NBC/Peacock package offers an additional viewing option and expands the Big 12 distribution footprint.

Peacock has recently built some significant momentum in college hoops broadcasts. The platform previously carried Big East and Big Ten games under similar agreements. NBC’s commitment to college basketball continues to grow as it reshapes its sports portfolio.

Starting in the 2025‑26 season, fans can watch a dedicated slate of Big 12 games via Peacock. This marks a meaningful addition to the conference’s streaming presence and adds flexibility for viewers. As the market for live sports continues to evolve, the Big 12 remains focused on maximizing reach and value for its teams.
