The 2025 college football season entered the final month of the season with Week 10 and in the Big 12 there were seven games on the schedule this week, all kicking off on Saturday. Reviewing a fan base’s attendance also gives us a chance to see which teams are the most passionate about their teams, and which fan bases have checked out and are already looking forward to basketball season. Some teams are surprising, some are disappointing, but who is showing up? With Week 10 of the season in the rearview mirror, here’s a look at the attendance numbers in the conference.
Big 12 Football Week 10 Attendance (Percentage capacity in parenthesis)
- Kansas State vs. Texas Tech: 52,111 (104.2%)
- Utah vs. Cincinnati 51,672 (100.4%)
- Iowa State vs. Arizona State: 60,899 (99.0%)
- Colorado vs. Arizona: 48,322 (96.3%)
- Kansas vs. Oklahoma State: 39,511 (95.1%)
- Baylor vs. UCF: 40,212 (89.0%)
- Houston vs. West Virginia: 25,049 (62.6%)
Props to Kansas state and Utah fans for showing out with over 100% capacity for their stadium, and Iowa State fans, always loyal, showed up on a nasty weather day for a team that had lost three games in a row, and when all was said and done, four straight, for the first time since 2022. Meantime, Folsom Field was in good shape, but once the blowout began, fans bailed quickly in Boulder. The place was empty in the second half. Kansas and Baylor fans held their own as well, despite both teams coming off of bad losses.
And then, there’s Houston. I don’t know what’s going on, but this team deserves better than what this fan base has given them so far this season. The team is ranked for the first time in three years and this is the support they get for what was a huge game in the Big 12 standings?
If Houston wants to be taken seriously in this league, the next step isn’t on the field. It’s in the stands. Let’s get this team the support they deserve, even after a tough loss to West Virginia.
