Arizona Stadium Deal Sets Big 12 Football Record

NCAA Football: Alamo Bowl-Arizona at Oklahoma

University of Arizona and Casino Del Sol — an enterprise of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe — have agreed to a 20-year naming rights partnership, valued at more than $60 million, under which the longstanding home of the Wildcats football program will be renamed Casino Del Sol Stadium.

The agreement delivers an average of roughly $3 million per year to Arizona Athletics, providing a major financial boost at a time when athletic departments nationwide are searching for new revenue streams. For Arizona, which joined the Big 12 this season, the extra resources will go toward facility upgrades, fan-experience enhancements, student-athlete support, and long-term modernization projects.

Casino Del Sol receives full naming rights, branding on exterior and interior signage, logo placement on the field and videoboards, and integration into all broadcast mentions. The deal also grants the resort and casino category exclusivity within Arizona Athletics, ensuring no competing gaming brand will hold a similar position over the life of the contract.

University officials emphasized that the partnership extends beyond dollars and signage. Arizona leaders highlighted the cultural significance of aligning with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, noting ongoing collaborations in education, community initiatives, and regional investment. Casino Del Sol’s leadership echoed that sentiment, calling the agreement a long-term commitment to Tucson and the broader Wildcat community.

For college football traditionalists, the change marks the end of an era. The venue had been known simply as Arizona Stadium since opening in 1929. But as naming-rights agreements become increasingly common—especially across the Big 12—the Wildcats now join a growing list of programs capitalizing on stadium branding as a major revenue asset.

For the Big 12, the deal sets a new benchmark. At more than $60 million total, it instantly becomes one of the richest naming-rights packages in the conference and signals that league members are aggressively pursuing commercial partnerships to remain competitive in the evolving college sports landscape.

Casino Del Sol Stadium will debut its new branding throughout the 2025 season, with updated signage, field marks, and digital assets rolling out over the coming months.
