The Big 12 Tournament is getting a little louder this year.
Music superstar DJ Khaled is headed to Kansas City to headline the official Big 12 Tournament After Party, adding a major entertainment boost to one of college basketball’s premier conference events.
Presented by Venmo, the show will be free for fans, which is honestly super cool. The Big 12’s social media accounts will roll out additional ways to claim tickets this year. Venmo debit card users will also receive access to special perks during the event.
Khaled released a classic DJ Khaled-style video on socials, saying, “The Big 12 Tournament is one of the biggest and best. I’m looking forward to bringing that energy to the Tournament After Party with a performance and connecting with the fans. Young world, the world is yours — you are now, and you are the future! Keep going! WE THE BEST!”
The Big 12 has continued to lean into the idea that its postseason tournament in Kansas City is more than just basketball. It is a week-long event built around competition, culture, and fan experience. Bringing in a globally recognized artist like Khaled only reinforces that vision.
Tyrel Kirkham, the Big 12’s chief brand and business officer, emphasized that commitment in the conference’s announcement.
“We are continually investing in ways to elevate the Big 12 Basketball Tournaments and deliver an unforgettable experience for our fans,” Kirkham said. “DJ Khaled is an incredible performer, and we know he will put on a high-energy show. From elite competition on the court to world-class entertainment off it, our goal is to create a championship atmosphere that blends sports and culture in a way only the Big 12 can. Kansas City has been an outstanding partner in helping us bring that vision to life.”
The basketball inside T-Mobile Center will remain the main attraction, but once the final buzzer sounds, the party will just be getting started.
