On Friday night, I got the chance to speak with WR Gregory Clayton Jr. (5’11”, 175) out of Lutcher, Louisiana (Lutcher HS). As of right now, Gregory holds a total of 11 offers (two from Big 12 schools). Here is my chat with Gregory about his recruitment and it appears that the Kansas State will battle it out along with a few others for his signature. Who are they? Find out right here in this interview.
Heartland College Sports: Which schools have been recruiting you the hardest?
Clayton: “Michigan State, Purdue, K-State and SMU.”
HCS: Are those your top schools?
Clayton: “Yes, those are my top schools in no order.”
HCS: Which schools have you visited so far and what schools will you be visiting over the next few weeks?
Clayton: “I was supposed to go to SMU today (January 19th) but the trip didn’t happen, but I am going to try and get to Kansas State next weekend.”
HCS: What are your thoughts about Kansas State and the coaching staff there?
Clayton: “My thoughts are good, and I can’t wait to meet them face to face.”
HCS: What has been the biggest surprise in your recruitment? Was there a memorable moment that really stuck out to you?
Clayton: “Probably when I got a chance to sit down and talk with Vince Young at Texas.”
HCS: When do you plan on announcing your commitment?
Clayton: “February 7th.”
