Reece Beauchamp, a senior at Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas, just wrapped up his final season of high school football, going 12-2 and losing to eventual state champion Westlake in the quarterfinals of the 6A Texas High School Football Playoffs.
Beauchamp was an integral part of the Vipers’ offense, recording 55 receptions for 1,045 yards and 17 touchdowns in his senior year. He totaled 1,380 all-purpose yards on the season and received a few scholarship offers from schools such as Lehigh, Montana State, and Pennsylvania.
However, he ended up landing somewhere a bit closer to home and has committed to becoming a Texas Longhorn.
“It’s been a long and tough process,” Beauchamp writes, “but after lots of thought and prayer I’ve decided to commit to the University of Texas. I’m very thankful for all the other coaches who have recruited and believed in me.”
Beauchamp is a member of the 2022 recruiting cycle, and joins a class that ranks fifth in the country and first in the Big 12. He will be joined by fellow receiver Brenen Thompson (four-star; Spearman, TX) and transfer receiver Isaiah Neyor (Wyoming).
