Mike Farrell Predicts ‘Break Out Season’ for Quinn Ewers in 2023

Texas Longhorn fans will be wondering who will lead their team into the 2023 season for several more months while the questions surrounding the quarterback position are roaring up.
With five-star plus quarterback Arch Manning enrolled and former five-star plus quarterback Quinn Ewers with a year under his belt, the Longhorns are seemingly headed for a quarterback competition.
Sports analyst Mike Farrell from Mike Farrell Sports discussed the competition and openly praised Quinn Ewers mentioning that he believes Ewers is primed for a breakout year.
“The mullet is gone and so is the overthinking for the super-talented Texas QB. Arch Manning won’t be pushing him as the word on the street is that the family wants Arch to redshirt but he won’t be needed anyhow. Ewers teased us a bit against Alabama and in other games but he also made some baffling mistakes. He wasn’t even a top-five rated QB in the Big 12 so that’s no good but I think the light does on this year. His arm talent is exceptional but this isn’t a Will Levis situation. He sees the field better and has a better grasp of timing and I think a 30-touchdown season with less than 5 picks can happen. And if it does happen the NFL will be drooling.”
Ewers has been a dream project for NFL scouts on arm talent and athleticism alone but with a stellar year leading Steve Sarkisian’s offense under his belt, the mullet menace should be a hot commodity for scouts.
The Texas Longhorns will kick off their 2023 season on September 2nd against Rice, and Big 12 play on September 23rd against the Baylor Bears.
