2024 Three-Star QB Khalil Wilkins Commits to West Virginia

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia

The West Virginia Mountaineers football team added a new name to the 2024 recruitment class with the commitment of three-star quarterback Khalil Wilkins.

Wilkins announced his decision to join Neal Brown and the Mountaineers Sunday afternoon on Twitter as West Virginia beat out the likes of Pittsburg, Maryland, Marshall, and Boston College to get Wilkins on campus.

Wilkins is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index, as well as the nation’s 933rd overall prospect. He also checks in as the class of 2024’s 57th-ranked prospect and the 24th-ranked prospect in the state of Maryland.

While West Virginia athletics have been in a bit of a bad cycle with everything happening on the basketball court, news of a new prospect headed to Morgantown is always a good lift to the spirits of fans.

It’s no secret that West Virginia head coach Neal Brown is in the hot seat heading into the 2023 season, but if the Mountaineers can bounce back in the fall, Wilkins and Brown could make a great team in 2024 when he steps on campus. West Virginia kicks their season off on September 2nd against Penn State in a nationally televised game, where Wilkins and the rest of the class of 2024 will get their first look at their future team.
