Oklahoma-Kansas Game on Lightning Delay During Second Quarter

While the bad weather in Lawrence looked like it would hold off until the second half, Saturday’s contest between the Jayhawks and the Sooners is officially on lightning delay nearing the end of the first half.
The Kansas Jayhawks lead Brent Venables and the sixth-ranked Sooners 14-7 at the break with 7:50 to go in the second half.
The Sooners hit the road to Lawrence boasting an impressive 7-0 overall record and 4-0 in conference with wins over Cincinnati, Iowa State, Texas, and UCF. The Jayhawks on the other hand are looking to get back into the hunt for a Big 12 title with a win over the team at the top of the Big 12 standings.
Kansas got things going early with a pick-six by junior defensive back Mello Dotson to put the Jayhawks up a score.
The game has been an impressive back-and-forth battle so far, and while no one enjoys seeing a game go on lightning delay, Brent Venables and the Sooners may be able to take advantage of the break in the action and find some offense to close out the half.
