Colorado University Creates New ‘Prime Time’ Leadership Course
While Deion Sanders without question is one of the most influential college coaches in America right now when it comes to improving a university’s brand, Sanders’ influence is so much more than just in sports.
According to a post from a student at the University of Colorado, CU will be officially offering a class in the fall called CMCI 4021: Prime Time: Public Performance and Leadership.
The course description for Prime Time reads, “This course will be co-taught by a variety of media experts on the CU Boulder campus. The course will focus on helping college athletes explore how to manage their time in college, prepare for career, manage their celebrity, identify when to best speak into their profit center, advocate for worthy causes, coordinate with sports agents, and how to interact with journalists and the media.”
While Sanders’ decision to accept the job at Colorado instantly brought in a wave of excitement surrounding the Buffaloes football team, Sanders and company are approaching a move to the Big 12 Conference following a 4-8 finish last year in the Pac-12 Conference.
The team will have an uphill battle ahead of them by reloading key skill position losses to graduation and the NFL Draft, but with a person like Deion Sanders wearing the headset on the sidelines, I wouldn’t put anything past Coach Prime.
