Kansas State Basketball Ties Record for Most Overtime Wins in a Season

NCAA Basketball: Baylor at Kansas State

While Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats entered their 10th game of conference play on a four-game losing streak, Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks learned one of the Big 12’s most important truths. Kansas State does not lose in overtime.

With the team’s 75-70 overtime win against Kansas, the Wildcats tied the NCAA Division 1 record for most overtime wins in a single season with six.

Kansas State has now tied the record with six overtime wins this season after taking down the likes of Providence, Oral Roberts, North Alabama, Villanova, Baylor, and Kansas in the same season.

While the 6-0 record in 2023-24 is an impressive stat in its own right, Jerome Tang has never lost an overtime game in his career with the Kansas State. The Wildcats finished off the previous season with a perfect 5-0 record in overtime games which helped give the Cats the longest overtime winning streak in the history of the Big 12 Conference.

Kansas State, 15-8 (5-5), will get a few days of rest before heading to Provo for a matchup against Mark Pope and the No. 21 BYU Cougars. The game between the Wildcats and the Cougars tips off on Saturday, February 10th at 9:00 PM CT with coverage live on ESPN2.
