Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of three-star defensive lineman Trey Verdon.
Verdon elected to join the Cyclones after receiving offers from 13 different programs including the likes of Louisville, Pittsburgh, Toledo, Kent State, and more.
Coming out of Hamilton High School, Verdon is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the 71st-ranked defensive lineman in his class. He also is listed as the 44th-ranked player in the state of Ohio.
Verdon announced his decision on social media Tuesday afternoon saying, “I would like to thank all of the coaches who have given me the opportunity to play for their programs. I am grateful for their time and advice. However, I am exited to announce my commitment to Iowa State University!”
While the 2024 season is still the better part of seven months away from kicking off, Verdon and the rest of the Class of 2025 commits will have an opportunity to watch their future team take the field for the first time in 2024 on Saturday, August 31st against North Dakota.
