Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs added an in-conference transfer on Saturday when Arizona State’s Frankie Collins was added through the transfer portal.

Collins was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team in 2023-24 and chose the Horned Frogs over SMU, San Diego State, Florida, Cal, and returning to Arizona State.

Collins was a key player for the Sun Devils last season, averaging 13.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game on 42.6% shooting from the field. His biggest game of the season came against Washington on February 22nd when he posted 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Coming out of Coronado High School in the Class of 2021, Collins was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 47th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the seventh-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Nevada.

While the addition is big for TCU, the Sun Devils will now have to replace a key member of their squad ahead of their first season in the Big 12 Conference. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college basketball history, Bobby Hurley should have some options available for replacement.
