EA Sports unveiled a massive title update for College Football 25 on Thursday morning, and it appears to have fixed some of the biggest issues that hindered the game from reaching its full potential at launch.
Still wildly successful since it was released last month, CFB25 has been more popular than EA ever expected it to be, well exceeding the expected total sales after just two weeks.
However, gameplay bugs, errors, glitches, and frustrating UI kept people from truly being immersed in the first college football video game title in over a decade, but many of those issues are a thing of the past now.
With the update — which went live around 6:00 a.m. CT — many of the well-documented issues affecting the game have been fixed, as was addressed in the patch notes for the update.
Among the issues fixed were:
- Dynasty Mode Simulation Logic: Adjusted likelihood of major upsets (i.e., FCS teams beating Georgia)
- CFP Rankings and Playoff Logic: More realistic outcomes, rankings in the CFP bracket
- “360 Badge” Spin Move Nerfed: Overpowered spin moves for running backs — like Quinshon Judkins — have been nerfed after they were allowing users to spam the spin button to avoid being tackled.
- Multiple team aesthetic updates: several teams received updates to their uniforms, stadiums, entrances, etc.
- Many gameplay bugs
