Oklahoma State vs. Baylor Football History
The history between these two teams goes all the way back to 1914. They’ve met 42 times in their history, and in every season between 1996 and 2022, with last year being the first time that the two programs didn’t see each other on the field in over a quarter century. Their most recent matchup ended in a 36-25 win for Oklahoma State, as the Cowboys exacted revenge for a 21-16 loss in the Big 12 Championship game the year prior.
While both of these teams come into the game with 3-4 records and well outside the Big 12 title picture, there’s still a ton on the line for both teams. The Pokes have been to a bowl game in every season since Mike Gundy’s first year with the program and really need to get things going if they hope to keep that streak alive. Meanwhile, Baylor head coach Dave Aranda is on the hot seat, and any loss from here on out could be the final straw.
Oklahoma State vs. Baylor is one of seven Big 12 games on the schedule for Week 9 of the season, with two teams, Iowa State and Arizona State, having their bye weeks.
Oklahoma State vs. Baylor Prediction: Baylor 34, Oklahoma State 31
Baylor is feeling itself after a big win over Texas Tech. We knew that Baylor could be that team, if it all came together. But OSU is also fresh off a near-upset against BYU on the road last Friday night.
These two long-time Big 12 members know each other well. Both teams will stack up point in this game, but I see the home team walking away with a field goal win, while the Cowboys end up getting the cover.
