In a horrible change of pace for Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs, senior guard Frankie Collins will miss the remainder of the season with a broken left foot.
Collins, a 6-foot-2 senior from California, was one of the Horned Frogs’ biggest offseason additions after transferring from Arizona State.
“TCU guard Frankie Collins is out for the season after suffering a broken left foot last weekend,” ESPN’s Jeff Borzello wrote on X. “He was leading the Horned Frogs in scoring (11.2 PPG), assists (4.4 APG) and steals (1.9 SPG).”
Collins started his career at Michigan, where he spent one season before transferring to Arizona State. As a member of the Sun Devils, Collins developed into one of the top guards in the transfer portal in the 2023 cycle.
Coming out of Coronado High School in the Class of 2021, Collins was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 47th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the seventh-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of New York.
Unfortunately, the Horned Frogs now find themselves down their primary ball handler. With just blank games to go ahead of their December 30th Big 12 opener, Jamie Dixon and company will have to find something out fast if they hope to get the season back on track.
