Kansas’ receiver corps just added a new piece in Buffalo wideout transfer Nik McMillan, who announced his commitment to the Jayhawks via social media on Thursday.
McMillan, a top-5 MAC receiver and a First Team All-MAC selection in 2025, is bound for Lawrence with one year of eligibility remaining.
A redshirt junior at Buffalo, McMillan led the Bulls in receiving with 62 catches for 981 yards (ninth-most in school history) and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound route runner produced seven 100-yard receiving games, including six consecutive, for Buffalo last season.
McMillan is the first receiver addition of the portal cycle for the KU offense, which just returned a valuable coaching name in former offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, now under the title of assistant head coach. McMillan joins a receiver room led by returners Cam Pickett and Keaton Kubecka.
The Jayhawks have already won multiple big names on the offensive side of the ball: running backs Yasin Willis (Syracuse), Jalen Dupree (Colorado State), and interior lineman Connor Stroh (Texas).
McMillan is the latest portal win for Lance Leipold since Wednesday, when KU won the commitment of Georgia Tech safety Christian Pritchett. With McMillan, the total number of portal wins for Leipold and company rises to 13.
Leipold served as head coach at Buffalo from 2015 to 2020.
