The Big 12 is about as unpredictable as any conference in college football. Over the last six years, six different champions have emerged. No other conference in the country has had more parity than the Big 12.
Last week, I went over championship odds, and I thought I would follow that up by looking at win totals for every team in the Big 12. Here are each team’s win totals for 2026 and which teams I will be hammering the OVER on when placing bets.
Big 12 Win Totals
Texas Tech: 10.5
BYU: 8.5
Houston: 8.5
Kansas State: 8.5
Utah: 8.5
Arizona: 7.5
Arizona State: 6.5
Baylor: 6.5
Oklahoma State: 6.5
TCU: 6.5
Cincinnati: 5.5
Kansas: 5.5
UCF: 5.5
West Virginia: 5.5
Colorado: 4.5
Iowa State: 4.5
BYU Over 8.5 Wins
With quarterback Bear Bachmeier and reigning Big 12 player of the year LJ Martin returning, you may not find a better duo in the backfield in the conference. Combine that with a solid offensive line and good luck stopping those two. Throw in a solid defense and what you have is a legitimate Big 12 title contender.
BYU doesn’t play Texas Tech this year, and their two toughest games are against Notre Dame and Utah. Outside of that, they should have no issues with anyone else on their schedule.
If BYU can split those two games I mentioned, then ten or even eleven wins are on the table. Plus, if you are a true conference title contender, you know that 8.5 wins isn’t enough, which is why I would absolutely hammer the Cougars this season.
Utah Over 8.5 Wins
Much like their in-state rival, Utah has their own dynamic duo in the backfield with quarterback Devon Dampier returning as well as running back Wayshawn Parker, who averaged 6.6 yards per carry last season.
Dampier was one of the best dual threats in the Big 12 in 2025, finishing with 24 touchdown passes, 5 picks, and a 63.5% completion percentage. He also rushed for 835 yards and 10 touchdowns.
I know there are some concerns about the offensive line and the defense in general, which is fair. However, Utah always seems to find guys who can play up front, and with Morgan Scalley being promoted to head coach, the defense should be in good shape to hold their own.
What I love about the Utes most is their schedule. Their first six games are against Idaho, Arkansas, Utah State, Iowa State, Kansas, and Colorado. Outside of the Iowa State and Colorado game, the rest are in Salt Lake City. While their second half is tougher, they still get BYU at home as well as Houston. I see Utah getting off to a quick 6-0 start, and even if they finish .500 down the stretch, that’s still good enough for nine wins easily.
Houston Over 8.5 Wins
I thought about putting Arizona, TCU, or maybe even Oklahoma State here for my last pick, but I decided to stick with the 8.5-win club with Houston. The Cougars are coming off a fantastic 2025 season after winning ten games.
Connor Weigman returns as arguably the most underrated quarterback in the conference after throwing for over 2,700 yards last season and rushing for 700 more. And with the additions they made, including receiver Amare Thomas, they have the weapons to make more explosive plays this season.
Defensively, they added some great pieces to a veteran unit and are one of the most complete teams in the conference from top to bottom. While they do have road trips to Lubbock and Salt Lake City, they should be favored in at least ten games this season. And with arguably one of the easiest November schedules, I see Houston once again reaching at least nine wins this season.
