Arizona wide receiver R.J. Mosley was carted off the field with a lower-body injury during the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Texas Tech.
ESPN reported later in the game that Mosley would remain on the Texas Tech campus in Lubbock, where he was undergoing X-rays for what Arizona was describing as a “lower-body injury.”
The injury occurred with approximately 1:27 remaining in the third quarter and Texas Tech leading Arizona 24-23. Mosley went down after being tackled and immediately grabbed at his left knee as Arizona’s medical staff rushed onto the field to evaluate him.
The situation quickly appeared serious, with a cart eventually being brought onto the field and Mosley’s leg being stabilized before he was taken off.
ESPN’s Dave Pasch told viewers that the broadcast had decided against showing additional replays because of the nature of the injury.
“We’re being told this is an injury we’re not going to show the audience,” Pasch said during the broadcast.

Mosley will remain in Lubbock for further evaluation as Arizona awaits more information on the extent of the injury.
The freshman wide receiver entered Saturday having caught six passes for 99 yards in four games this season, averaging 16.5 yards per reception. He had yet to record a touchdown.
Mosley was coming off his longest reception of the season, a 30-yard catch in Arizona’s 39-3 victory over Iowa State last week.
His injury came during a critical stretch of Saturday’s ranked Big 12 matchup, with the Wildcats and Red Raiders separated by just one point late in the third quarter.
No further diagnosis was immediately available beyond Arizona describing Mosley’s injury as a lower-body injury.
Heartland College Sports will provide additional updates on Mosley’s status as more information becomes available.
