Kliff Kingsbury calls upon Danny Amendola, Rob Gronkowski to give scholarship to Justus Parker
It’s been a very positive few weeks for Kliff Kingsbury. He saved his job with a win over Texas, punched a ticket to a bowl game and now has one of his Twitter videos going viral.
Sophomore walk-on safety Justus Parker finished sixth on the team in tackles with 42 and was named second-team All-Big 12. Kingsbury found a unique way to hand out a scholarship to Parker on Monday and called upon former Texas Tech wide receiver, and current Patriot Danny Amendola. But it got even better when surprise guest Rob Gronkowski got in on the mix!
Check this out.
HUGE thanks to @DannyAmendola and @RobGronkowski for having a special part in making a dream come true for @justus_parker. #chills #PatriotWay #WreckEm pic.twitter.com/qJJZwdeeEW

Whoever thought of this idea, be it Kingsbury, or someone in the athletic department, did a great job. And in a day and age of social media 24/7, players and future recruits love seeing these kinds of stories play out.
Justus Parker has a great story that will hopefully be told more going forward. He played one season at Division-III Texas Lutheran before transferring to Tech. He redshirted last season and made an immediate impact this season. Well deserved!
