Cade Cunningham Sweeps Big 12 Weekly Awards
Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham swept the Big 12 Weekly Awards, and is the Big 12 Player of the Week the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for March 1.
This is the second straight week that Cunningham has been the Big 12 Player of the Week. He shared the honor with West Virginia guard Miles McBride last week. This is the seventh time that Cunningham has been the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
Last week Cunningham had two huge games for the Cowboys, leading them to wins over two ranked teams — Texas Tech and Oklahoma — and moving the Cowboys up in both the AP Top 25 poll and the USA Today Top 25 poll.

Against Oklahoma, the true freshman surged to 40 points and 11 rebounds in the Cowboys’ overtime win, a game the Cowboys played without guard Isaac Likekele. It was the first 40-point game by a freshman this year and the most by a Big 12 player in 2020-21.
It was also the first game since 2006 in which a player had at least 40 points and at least 10 rebounds against an AP Top 10 team.
Cunningham also scored 20 points against Texas Tech, finishing with a weekly average of 30.0 points on 58.8 percent shooting, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block.
