In one of the most shocking trades of the offseason, Kansas City is sending 3x All-Pro and 6x Pro Bowl Selection Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five future draft picks, including first-round (No. 29), second-round (No. 50), and fourth-round picks in the 2022 Draft.
The Chiefs will also receive fourth and sixth-round picks in the 2023 draft in exchange for the fastest man in the NFL.
Tyreek Hill requested a trade from the Chiefs when negotiations concerning an extension stalled and the Dolphins will oblige Hill, and then some.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Hill is signing a four-year, $120 million extension with the Dolphins, with $72.2 million guaranteed. That makes Hill the new highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL, just one week after the Raiders went all-in on Davante Adams.
The Chiefs signed JuJu Smith-Schuster last week and will reportedly look at adding Packers wideout Marquez Valdez-Scantling in the wake of Hill leaving for Miami.
It will be weird seeing Patrick Mahomes without his top wideout next season, and one has to wonder what the Chiefs offense will look like without him. Nonetheless, they will be just fine with All-Pro caliber players like Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
