A Calmus is heading to Oklahoma’s campus, and it’s not Rocky for a reunion.

Casen Calmus, the son of former Oklahoma standout Rocky Calmus, announced via Twitter that he’s committed to Oklahoma as part of the 2023 class. Calmus is a four-sport athlete at Brentwood Academy in Nashville, TN. He made his announcement on Twitter on Friday.

This will surely make Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables feel old: Rocky Calmus played for Venables at OU from 1999-2001 and was a two-time consensus All-American and won the Butkus Award in 2001. Now, Venables will be coaching his son, who is joining the Sooners as a preferred walk-on.

In 11 games as a senior, Calmus had nine catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. On special teams, he returned 14 punts for 102 yards, and on the defensive side of the ball, he racked up 24 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception returned for a touchdown and had seven passes defended.
