The Big 12 has another multi-talented quarterback joining the conference with the addition of UCF quarterback John Rhys Plumlee, and no, we aren’t just talking about his ability on the baseball field.
Plumlee is a dual-sport athlete who plays both quarterback for the Knights football team, and centerfield on the baseball diamond, and in case playing two sports isn’t enough, he also happens to be a talented musician.
John Rhys Plumlee can be seen in the video above singing and playing a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” on the keyboard. The talented quarterback from Mississippi has a lot on his plate with the move to the Big 12 Conference, facing new challenges from new teams, but if anyone is equipped to handle juggling multiple big projects, history would tell us it’s Plumlee.
UCF joins the Big 12 under head coach Gus Malzahn who has already made an impact on the future of the team landing six recruits since the move on July 1st. The six prospects include four-star athlete Kylan Fox, four-star IOL Waltclaire Flynn, four-star safety Jakob Gude, four-star LB Qua Birdsong, three-star safety Christian Peterson, and three-star OT Chase Malamala.
Plumlee and the UCF Knights kick their season off on August 31st against Kent State before taking on the defending champion Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan to kick off their first season of Big 12 play.
