Deion Sanders Answers Question on NFL Interest
The Deion Sanders rumors seem to never end, but here’s one we can put to rest: Deion is not interested in the NFL.
On Monday, Coach Prime appeared on the Nightcap show with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, where he explained why he’s not interested in the NFL.
‘I don’t wanna do pros, I love college,’ he answered, when asked specifically about the LA Chargers opening. ‘I would never do pros.’
‘I’m straight,’ he continued. ‘Colorado provided everything that I need man. I’m having the time of my life. I love Boulder, Colorado. I love the kids that I get to coach. I love the recruiting process. I love it.’
Sanders went on to explain why he prefers college athletes to professionals, saying, ‘I like the amateurism of it even though it’s turning to pros because everybody wants a bag now. I would have a hard time in the locker room with a guy that’s making a multitude of millions and he don’t want to play and don’t want to give his all.’
Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 3-0 start including an upset over TCU in Week 1. The Buffaloes would then go on to finish 4-8 overall with a 1-8 record in the Pac-12.
Deion and the Buffaloes are set to join the Big 12 Conference for the 2024 college football season.
