The TCU Horned Frogs have put together another compelling schedule for its latest Big 12 Conference men’s basketball season under Jamie Dixon.
Dixon is entering his ninth season at his alma mater and its doing unprecedented things. TCU has reached the NCAA Tournament each of his last three seasons, has won at least 21 games in each of those seasons and has won back-to-back NCAA Tournament first-round games. TCU has also finished in top half of the Big 12 standings each of the last three years.
Dixon has accomplished it in part because he’s learned to adapt to the changing landscape of the game, which means being open to the transfer portal and to changing his team’s approach on the floor.
TCU will play two games at the Acrisure Invitational in Palm Springs, Calif., in November and host Vanderbilt in the LBM Coast to Coast Challenge at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
The schedule features 11 non-conference games and 20 Big 12 games, the latter being the first time the conference has fielded a 20-game league schedule.
That schedule will take place over 10 weeks with no break, meaning by the time the Horned Frogs get to the Big 12 Tournament in March in Kansas City, they will have played two games a week for more than two months.
The Big 12 Tournament will be held March 11-15 at T-Mobile Arena and all 16 teams will participate. The exact format of the bracket will be announced at a later date.
