Big 12 Athlete Goes Viral for Posterizing Mark Few’s Son

Big 12 Basketball Player.

While the team may have wound up losing their opening matchup to eighth-ranked Gonzaga, one member of the Baylor Bears basketball team is trending on social media after the game.

That player is freshman guard V.J. Edgecombe, who went viral for posterizing Joe Few, the son of legendary Gonzaga head coach Mark Few, in garbage time.

The freshman guard took out all of his frustration on one thunderous dunk, putting Few on a poster after checking in to the blowout loss. In his three year college basketball career, Few has played just 81.3 minutes of basketball over 28 career games played.

In his first taste of college basketball, Edgecombe played 29 minutes in the 101-63 loss, recording four points, seven rebounds, and one assist on 18.2% (2-11) shooting from the floor.

Edgecombe, one of the top-ranked players in his class, is the next standout prospect in a long list of big names to head to Waco as an impact freshman. Coming out of Long Island Lutheran in the Class of 2024, Edgecombe was listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s fourth-ranked player. He also checked in as the top-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of New York.

Despite a slow start for Scott Drew’s squad, Baylor projects to be one of the nation’s top-ranked basketball teams in 2024-25. They return to action on Saturday, November 9th, at 6:30 p.m. vs. No. 16 Arkansas.
