While it’s no secret that Desmond Howard’s performance on College GameDay has been, too often, controversial and comical, he took it to a new level during Week 12’s broadcast.
Howard is getting crushed on social media for asking why the GameDay crew is even picking Saturday’s matchup between Arizona State (7-2) and No. 20 Kansas State (7-2).
“I saw that on the rundown, and I thought that it was a mistake,” Howard said. “Kansas State, I guess. Let’s go Kansas State.”
With both teams still in the conversation of an automatic bid to the College Football Playoff, it should go without saying that the game is one of the biggest games in the Week 12 slate. The pair of 7-2 teams are just one game back of the Colorado Buffaloes, who are in the driver’s seat to a Big 12 title game birth. Kansas State even has the tie-breaker over Colorado in their head-to-head win.
It didn’t take long for social media to react to the statement, calling Howard out for the horrible take.
Regardless of the backlash, Desmond Howard and the GameDay crew are unlikely to stop their SEC bias any time soon. That’s why it’s good you’re here at Heartland College Sports.
