The spring transfer portal is in full swing, and with well over 1,000 players entering their names since last Wednesday, there’s a lot of action to keep up with.

We’ve seen several notable players from around the Big 12 put their names into the system, including Cincinnati transfer Tony Johnson.

An eight-game starter for the Bearcats in 2024, Johnson recorded 48 catches for 449 yards and six touchdowns a season ago. For context, he ranked third on the team in receptions and yards, but led the Bearcats in receiving scores.

All three were career-bests for Johnson, who spent his first two seasons at FAU and originally hales from Ocala, Florida.

Johnson ranks as the No. 15 wide receiver available in the transfer portal, and according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the former Cincy wideout is in Orlando visiting with UCF.

Intra-conference transfers are becoming more and more common, and it appears that we could be seeing one in the Big 12 if things go well.

The Bearcats and Knights are set to play on October 11 in Nippert Stadium, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
