When Micah Hudson re-entered the transfer portal last week, it felt like a foregone conclusion that he’d end up back in Lubbock with Texas Tech.
That was confirmed on Sunday afternoon, with Hudson announcing his return to Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
“Lubbock has always been home, and I’m forever grateful to the Coaching staff, teammates, and fans who make that experience possible,” Hudson said. “I’m back to finish what I started. This experience taught me a lot about myself and what it truly means to be a part of the Texas Tech family. God Bless! Wreck ‘Em, Micah Hudson.”
On Monday, the possibility of Hudson returning to Lubbock started to become a reality when On3’s Steve Wiltfong and several others entered predictions for the former five-star wideout to land back with his former team.
Hudson spent just a matter of weeks with Texas A&M before leaving the program, and chose to follow the same path that we saw Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor take in last year’s cycle.
Hudson played eight games for Texas Tech this past season, but struggled to make an impact for the Red Raiders, finishing with just eight catches for 123 yards. With his return to Lubbock, Hudson will have a chance to shine with a roster that was vastly improved over the offseason.
