Quentin Hayes worked his way back on the football field

Quentin Hayes’ Oklahoma teammates woke up the morning of Sept. 8, 2012, and prepared for that night’s home opener against Florida A&M.

Hayes, though, headed three miles north of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

For most of that football season, Hayes spent his Saturday mornings performing community service at Habitat for Humanity, trying to earn his way back onto the Sooners after being suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules.
