Oklahoma Opens Up As 11.5-Point Underdog vs. LSU
The Oklahoma Sooners beat the Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Championship on Saturday, and on Sunday, OU was selected to be the No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoff.
OU will play No. 1 seed LSU, who finished the season undefeated and beat No. 4 Georgia in the SEC Championship on Saturday. While LSU has had an outstanding season with a revamped offense led by passing coordinator Joe Brady and likely Heisman winner Joe Burrow at quarterback (speaking of Burrow, I got hammered by the guys at Freezing Cold Takes for this article), the defense has had an up-and-down season.
But it’s the LSU Tigers who opened up in Las Vegas as an 11.5-point favorite. It’s another sign of the disrespect we saw and heard most of the day against Oklahoma and the Big 12.
Oklahoma vs LSU (per BetOnline.ag)
Oklahoma +11½
LSU                            -11½  Â
Over/Under 75
To many in the national media, it feels like this is more of a three team playoff between LSU, Ohio State and Clemson. Oh, and then there’s Oklahoma.
Granted, the Big 12 is the only Power 5 Conference who has not yet won a College Football Playoff game. But I guessed LSU would be a 6.5-point favorite against OU, yet I was off by nearly double.
Needless to say, I’ll be hammering the OU line. Oh, and should I note that I was on Baylor +10 in the Big 12 Championship and the picks are 16-4-2 the last month of the season. Are you with me?
