Texas football activities have been put to a halt on Sunday after five members of the football program tested positive for COVID-19.
The football program announced on Sunday that COVID-19 tests had come back positive for three student-athletes and two staffers. The five unnamed members of the football team tested negative this past Friday and traveled to Manhattan, Kansas for Saturday’s game. The positive tests occurred on Sunday.
After the positive tests were confirmed, everyone was sent back home. More tests will occur this week and everything will hopefully return to normal pending test results.
The Longhorns are coming off a dominant 69-31 win over the Kansas State Wildcats. Running back Bijan Robinson went off with over 170 yards and three touchdown. It was a week in week Tom Herman found himself under the spotlight and on the hot seat, while Urban Meyer rumors circulated Austin, Texas.
Texas is scheduled to play the Kansas Jayhawks this upcoming weekend in Lawrence, Kansas. That game is a make up for the November 21st postponement due to COVID-19.
