CBS Bracketology: West Virginia Fall to a No. 4 Seed
The Big 12 Tournament is having an impact on Jerry Palm’s projected 68-team field in his latest CBSSports.com’s ‘Bracketology’, with West Virginia moving to a No. 4 seed line, thanks to its loss to Oklahoma State on Thursday.
The Big 12 Tournament continues on Friday in Kansas City, with Baylor facing Oklahoma State and Kansas facing Texas in the semifinals.
Oklahoma State’s win over West Virginia flipped the pair in Palm’s projected field. The Cowboys were a No. 4 seed before the game. But, now, the Cowboys are a No. 3 seed in the West Region, where they would face Grand Canyon in the first round.
The Mountaineers were a No. 2 seed in Palm’s field on Thursday. But, on Friday, the Mountaineers dropped to a No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region, with a projected first-round game against No. 13 seed UNC-Greensboro.

Baylor remained a No. 1 seed in the South Region, facing the winner of a No. 16-seed First Four game between St. Peter’s or Mount St. Mary.
Texas, which beat Texas Tech on Thursday evening, remained a No. 3 seed in the South Region, facing No. 13 seed Morehead State in the first round.
Kansas, which beat Oklahoma on Thursday, was a No. 3 seed in the East Region, where the Jayhawks would be projected to face No. 14 seed Colgate in the first round.
Texas Tech, which lost to Texas on Thursday, fell to a No. 7 seed in the West Region, where it would face No. 10 seed Georgia Tech in the first round.
Oklahoma, which lost to Kansas on Thursday, remained a No. 8 seed in the West Region, where the Sooners are projected to face Wisconsin in the first round.
