Texas Tech is coming off an 18-11 season that saw the Red Raiders reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Once the season was over, former head coach Chris Beard took the job at Texas, which triggered a series of transfers and early NBA declarations within the Red Raiders. Beard’s top assistant, Mark Adams, has taken over the program. The West Texas native will be entering his first season as a Division I head coach, though he has 544 career wins as a head coach below Division I.
The Red Raiders and the Bulldogs have played each other three times in their history, and the Red Raiders have won all three games, including an Elite Eight matchup in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
The only other Red Raiders game currently known is their matchup against Providence on Dec. 1 as part of the Big 12-Big East Battle in Providence, Rhode Island.
