Big 12 Has Three No. 1 Seeds in Latest CBS Bracketology

Baylor, Kansas and Iowa Stae are all No. 1 seeds and the Big 12 has seven teams in the most recent NCAA Tournament Bracketology released by CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm on Friday.
Palm wrote that the strength of the Big 12 overall made it necessary to have all three teams on the No. 1 seed line, at least for this Bracketology. Kansas was the team that moved up to join Baylor and Iowa State.
Palm also wrote that three teams from the same conference have been No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament twice. In 2019, the ACC did it with Duke, North Carolina and Virginia. In 2009, the Big East accomplished the feat with UConn, Louisville and Pittsburgh.
Other takeaways:
With Kansas moving into a No. 1 seed line, it would set up a potential Final Four matchup with Baylor, should both schools win their first four games. Baylor and Kansas would also play their first- and second-round games in Fort Worth.
Palm’s projections set up an awfully fun matchup in the first round, with Oklahoma facing Loyola-Chicago. The Ramblers, of course, were coached by current Sooners head coach Porter Moser for a decade, where he led L-C to a Final Four.
TCU, which is scheduled to play its first Big 12 game on Saturday against Baylor, is the first team out of the bracket.
