TCU Leads Big 12 Odds to Make College Football Playoff

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Colorado

In a recent update from BetOnline, the TCU Horned Frogs lead the Big 12 with the best odds to make the College Football Playoff with 60/1 odds of breaking into the Field of Four.

TCU has the ninth-best odds in the country to make the 2022 playoff, sitting behind Ohio State (2/1), Georgia (21/10), Alabama (17/4), Clemson (12/1), Michigan (12/1), Tennessee (14/1), UCLA (50/1), and Oregon (55/1).

The Horned Frogs are currently undefeated with an overall record of 6-0 approaching a big game on Saturday with the 17th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats.

This weekend’s matchup will determine who sits at the top of the Big 12 and who has a better shot to make the College Football Playoff.

With both TCU and Kansas State undefeated in conference play coming into the game, either team could hypothetically lose a game and still control their destiny in Big 12 play, but a loss for K-State would tank the Wildcat’s national title hopes for good, while a TCU loss would eliminate any room for error going forward.

Texas is two spots behind the Horned Frogs at 66/1 odds, and Oklahoma State has 100/1 odds just a few spots after that. The Longhorns and Cowboys play on Saturday in a de facto Playoff elimination game, with Texas currently being favored by 6.5 points.

K-State and TCU will kick off at 7:00 p.m. in Fort Worth this Saturday, while Texas and Oklahoma State are set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. on ABC. All four teams come into this weekend with hopes of leaving as the favorite to win the Big 12.
