Look: Pat McAfee, Pat White to Coach at West Virginia Spring Game

West Virginia football fans have a lot to be excited about after a resurgent season in 2023. Neal Brown led the Mountaineers to a 9-4 record in his fifth year, which was by far his best season to date with WVU, and has a lot of talent returning for another go in 2024.

On Saturday, WVU fans will get a glimpse at what the team will look like heading into next year at the annual Gold vs. Blue spring game, which is set for 12:00 p.m EDT.

There will be plenty of new names and faces to get familiar with at the event, but a couple of big names will return to Morgantown, and they won’t have any problems with people recognizing them.

On Friday, West Virginia announced that both the Gold and Blue teams will have an honorary head coach for the spring game.

Legendary Mountaineers’ quarterback Pat White will return to Morgantown to coach Team Blue.

Meanwhile, Team Gold will be led by former special teams star, and ESPN personality, Pat McAfee.

It should be one heck of a weekend for Mountaineer fans, as having the “Pat’s” back in town should provide an unforgettable atmosphere to close out spring football.

West Virginia will kick off its 2024 season against Penn State on August 31, 2024, at Milan Puskar Stadium.
