When it comes to game-day promotions, the UCF Knights are looking to crack the code with their Big 12 opener this weekend.
An “unlimited hot dogs” ticket is available for UCF’s home Big 12 opener against TCU on Saturday at the Bounce House. The ticket includes limitless hot dogs (2 per trip) through halftime, beginning at $64 as the Knights look to fill the stands for their conference opener. There are a lot of ways this could go wrong, but it’s hard to believe that many fans are going to break out the big bucks – five times the amount of a $12 standard admission ticket – just to rake in unlimited wieners.
For starters, UCF already offers its “Bounce House Box,” which includes a hot dog, chips, water, etc., for $5 with a valid student ID. If you’re going back for a second dog, that’s understandable – but unlimited dogs? Have some respect for yourself.
The Outlook for UCF in Week 4
The Horned Frogs, off to a 2-1 start, following lopsided wins over Grambling State and Arkansas State, are a 3-point favorite in the contest, and UCF enters its second consecutive game without quarterback Alonza Barnett III, who suffered a right hamstring injury against Pitt in a Week 2 loss at Pittsburgh.
Backup Keyone Jenkins completed just seven passes for 86 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 44-30 win over Georgia State last week. UCF trailed 24-20 at halftime, and Cameran Brown was easily the better quarterback, throwing for 282 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions despite coming away with the loss.
This contest remains a one-score spread, though, as TCU enters the game overcoming Week 1 struggles against North Carolina in a 15-10 loss at the Aer Lingus Classic in Dublin. Harvard transfer Jaden Craig has responded well with a 337-yard, 3-touchdown performance against Arkansas State for a second week flirting with the 400-yard passing marker. Key wideout Jordan Dwyer, out for the start of the season, is listed as questionable entering Saturday’s trip to Orlando.
