Kansas State Women Rise Up A Seed in Latest ESPN Bracketology
The Kansas State Wildcats slid up a seed in the most recent NCAA Women’s Tournament Bracketology released by ESPN’s Charlie Crème on Tuesday.
Kansas State is coming off its upset win over Oklahoma on Sunday, a win that feature Ayoka Lee’s seismic performance in which she broke the NCAA record for most points in a game with 61. She also set the Big 12 and Kansas State record and was named the Big 12 Player of the Week and the ESPN Player of the Week. Her jersey and basketball from the game are on their way to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The Big 12 held steady with six teams in the field. Right now, none of the Big 12’s teams are on the bubble.
Other trends and notes:
Risers: Texas moved up to a No. 4 seed after winning both of its games last week. Crème set up an intriguing in-state matchup with SMU in the first round. Kansas also moved up a seed from the last bracket and faces a future Big 12 team in UCF.
Fallers: Oklahoma dropped to a No. 5 seed after its loss to Kansas State on Sunday.
Steady: Despite two losses last week, Iowa State remained a No. 3 seed.
