Colorado offensive lineman Jose Soto will be sidelined indefinitely with an apparent knee injury, according to Jake Schwanitz of DNVR.
Soto was spotted on the sideline ahead of Colorado’s game against Weber State on Saturday using crutches and wearing a large brace on his right knee.
Schwanitz reported that Soto is “OUT indefinitely,” although the Buffaloes have not yet announced additional details regarding the injury or a potential timetable for his return.
The loss is a notable one for a Colorado offensive line looking to establish itself early in the 2026 season.
Soto transferred to Colorado after spending the 2025 season at Sacramento State, where he started 11 games at right guard. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound lineman did not allow a sack or quarterback hit during Big Sky play last season before making the move to Boulder.
Now, Colorado will have to move forward without Soto for an undetermined amount of time.
The Buffaloes entered Saturday’s matchup against Weber State looking to build some momentum after opening the season against Georgia Tech with an upset road win. While Colorado is heavily favored against Weber State, Soto’s status becomes a much bigger storyline as the Buffaloes move toward conference play.
The exact nature and severity of Soto’s knee injury remain unclear.
