Kansas State vs. Arizona Football Game Scheduled for Friday, September 13

Kansas State Football has announced that its Week 3 tilt against Arizona during the 2024 season has been scheduled for Friday, September 13, after the Big 12 schedule placed it as one of several games throughout the year with a Friday/Saturday designation.

The game, which was scheduled before Arizona announced its intent to move to the Big 12 this summer, will serve as a nonconference matchup for both teams, despite each of them being among the favorites to win the league next season.

Earlier this month, FOX announced that it will feature a new “Friday night package” of “elite” matchups from the Big 12, Big Ten, and Mountain West.

With expectations high in both Manhattan (Kan.) and Tucson (Ariz.), it appears the potential of a Top 15 matchup on a Friday night was too good an opportunity to pass up for both schools. While FOX hasn’t announced whether or not it will carry the game, they or ESPN will be happy to carry a game of that magnitude in the Friday evening slot.

With the game being played on Friday the 13th, one group of Wildcats will have a spooky night and a look ahead at what life in the new-look Big 12 might be like.

Avery Johnson vs. Noah Fifita might be one of the best QB v. QB matchups that we get to see all season, as both enter the year as sophomores with sky-high potential.

Kansas State and Arizona have actually played seven times in their history, with Arizona leading the series 5-1-1. Odd as it may be, the two teams have never met anywhere other than Tucson, so this year’s meeting at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will have plenty of significance, both historically and in the race to the College Football Playoff.
