Charlie Brewer Allegedly Received Death Threats After Texas Tech Loss

NCAA Football: Sugar Bowl-Georgia vs Baylor

Things have not gone well this season for the Baylor Bears, who are 1-5 in the season and have lost five in a row since their season-opening win over the Kansas Jayhawks.

On Saturday, the Bears went to Lubbock and led for most of the game before falling to Texas Tech 24-23. The loss was extra painful as the team was looking to end its four-game slide and had a 20-6 lead in the third quarter.

There’s plenty that went wrong for the Bears in this game on both sides of the ball, but as usual, the quarterback get extra blame, along with extra praise when a team is doing well. Charlie Brewer continued his so-so season on Saturday, going 17/26 for 153 yards and one interception.

However, a small portion of Baylor fans apparently took this to an wildly unnecessary level when QB Charlie Brewer’s sister, Katie, alleged that Charlie had received death threats after the loss.

Of course, the overwhelming support Katie, Charlie and the Brewer family received on social media following her tweet was great, but it still goes to show you that some fans take sports way too seriously.

One fan even shared this great example of what a team player and good dude Charlie Brewer is.
